RESOLUTION
Commending
Fredric Thomas Newsom on becoming an Eagle
Scout; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Fredric Thomas Newsom, a Boy Scout from Flowery Branch, Georgia, has earned the
rank of Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS,
since 1911, the Eagle has been the symbol of the highest achievement among the
Boy Scouts of America; and
WHEREAS,
the attainment of Eagle Scout rank indicates that a Scout has developed
leadership ability, self-confidence, mature judgment, and mental and physical
capabilities that will be of immense benefit throughout life; and
WHEREAS,
Fredric Thomas Newsom has amply demonstrated to his Scout leaders and peers that
he possesses these qualities along with sterling character; and
WHEREAS,
a Scout must earn 21 merit badges to earn the rank of Eagle Scout, and Fredric
Thomas Newsom has surpassed this requirement with an impressive total of 40
merit badges earned; and
WHEREAS,
in achieving Eagle Scout status, Fredric Thomas Newsom has brought honor not
only to himself but also to his family and troop.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF
REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this
body recognize and commend Fredric Thomas Newsom for his diligence and
dedication in pursuing the highest honor awarded by the Boy Scouts of America
and congratulate him on attaining the prestigious rank of Eagle
Scout.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the
House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate
copy of this resolution to Fredric Thomas Newsom.
