AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Code Section 31-22-9 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to applicability of the clinical laboratories chapter, so as to revise certain
provisions relating to the applicability of the chapter relating to pharmacists
performing capillary blood tests under certain conditions; to provide for
related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other
purposes.

IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Code
Section 31-22-9 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to
applicability of the clinical laboratories chapter, is amended by striking
subsection (b) and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
∀(b)
This chapter shall not apply to pharmacists licensed pursuant to Chapter 4 of
Title 26 practicing in accordance with the provisions thereof who are performing
capillary blood tests and interpreting the results as a means to screen for or
monitor disease risk factors and facilitate patient education as authorized in
Code Section
26-4-4, so
long as such capillary blood tests are available to and for use by the public
without licensure of the user of the
test.∀
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
