A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT

To amend Code Section 48-13-20 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to time for payment of fees and taxes, so as to provide that regulatory fees for work or services done for the health, comfort, or safety of one or more individuals or to protect or maintain property may be paid after commencing business or the practice of a profession; to provide that work or services done for the health, comfort, or safety of one or more individuals or to protect or maintain property includes heating and air conditioning repair, service, and installation; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.
Code Section 48-13-20 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to time for payment of fees and taxes, is amended by striking subsection (c) and inserting in lieu thereof a new subsection (c) to read as follows:
(c) Regulatory fees may be paid after commencing business or the practice of a profession when:
(1) The work done or services provided are necessary for the health, comfort, or safety or to protect or maintain property of one or more individuals and shall include, but not be limited to, heating and air conditioning repair, service, and installation;
(2) The work done or services provided have no adverse effect on any other person; and
(3) Regulatory fees are tendered to the local government within two business days after commencing business or the practice of a profession.

SECTION 2.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
