A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT

To amend Code Section 45-7-4 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to the annual salaries of certain state officials, so as to provide that members of constitutional commissions may be reimbursed for certain expenses incurred during the performance of their official duties; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.
Code Section 45-7-4 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to the annual salaries of certain state officials, is amended by adding a new paragraph immediately following paragraph (25) of subsection (a) to read as follows:
"(26) In addition to any other compensation and allowances authorized by law, a state official elected by the people to serve on a constitutional commission may be reimbursed by the employing agency for actual expenses incurred for lodging at or near the commissiońs principal place of business when the elected official is required by law to reside more than 50 miles from the commissiońs principal place of business. Reimbursement under this paragraph shall not exceed the per diem allowance for members of the General Assembly."

SECTION 2.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
