A BILL to be entitled an Act to amend Code Section 40-6-253 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to consumption of alcoholic beverage or possession of open container of alcoholic beverage in passenger area of motor vehicle, so as to provide that a person convicted of such offense shall be guilty of a misdemeanor; to impose a cap of $500.00 on the amount of a fine that may be imposed in the event of such conviction; to provide for related matters; to provide an effective date and for applicability; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
