SR - HOPE Chest Amendment

ATLANTA- In its first meeting of the 2006 session, the Senate Higher Education Committee convened to consider Senate Resolution 655, known as the HOPE Chest Amendment. The proposed constitutional amendment would reserve all lottery funds for certain educational purposes. The resolution specifically states that after all HOPE scholarship and Pre-K program commitments are honored, the remaining lottery revenue would go to education shortfall reserves. (01/25/06)
