  • The Speaker's Internship Program is a year long program.  It is separated into three semesters:  Fall, Spring, and Summer
  • Each of these positions are paid.  The stipend will be determined by job duties.  You may also receive credit for your time as an intern.  Each school must decide the amount of credit, the department in which it is granted, and the requirements for earning credit.
  • Applications are available by:
    • contacting the head of your department
    • visiting the House of Representatives website at www.legis.state.ga.us
    • contacting House Communications at 404.656.0305
  • We will be choosing ten full time interns during the legislative session semester (Spring semester). Legislative session starts on the second Monday of January and lasts 40 non-consecutive legislative days (usually until the end of March.) These ten interns will be placed in the following areas:
    • two communications/media majors
    • three research/history/education majors
      • During the session we select three extra interns for this internship program
        • Speaker of the House (1 position)
        • Law students (2 positions)
        • House Communications (5 positions)
        • Information Technology (2 positions)
