This Week on the Floor: Friday, Feb.4 House Not in Session Thursday, Feb. 3 HB 151 - Drivers' licenses; information available to insurers; extend pilot program; relating to keeping of records of applications for drivers´ licenses and information on licensees, so as to extend the pilot program to determine the revenue feasibility of supplying limited rating information to agents, insurers, and insurance support organizations. - Yeas: 164 Nays: 0 HB 199 - Elections Code; corrections ; relating to elections, so as to correct typographical, stylistic, and other errors and omissions in the Official Code of Georgia Annotated and in previous Acts of the General Assembly. - Yeas: 164 Nays: 0 Wednesday, Feb. 2 H.B. 95 – Code of Georgia; corrections - presented to the Rules Committee by Rep. Wendell Willard (R-Sandy Springs); this bill intends to correct any grammar or technical changes to the Georgia Code, and not to make any substantive changes of law to the Code - Bill passed: 164 yeas: 0 nays H.R. 47 – A resolution to rename the Legislative Office Building, the Paul D. Coverdell Legislative Office Building. This resolution was introduced and sponsored and presented by Majority Leader Rep. Jerry Keen (R-St. Simons). - 4 amendments were offered. 1 amendment was withdrawn. 3 amendments failed - Bill passed: 121 yeas: 47 nays Tuesday, Feb. 1 No General Calendar votes were taken Monday, Jan. 31 H.B. 98 – “The Georgia Land Conservation Act”, unanimously passed the House with a vote 174:0. The bill, sponsored by Rich Golick (R-Smyrna), Governor Perdue’s Floor Leader, creates the Georgia Land Conservation Council, a Trust Fund, and a Revolving Fund to provide local cities, counties, and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources grants and/or loans, if eligible, to purchase land for conservation purposes. * The House was not in session on Friday, February 4, but will be back in session on Monday afternoon, February 7 at 1:00pm.
