11 March Daily Radio Script With the thirtieth day cut off on which the senate will accept house bills looming, the house moved quickly through a long calendar yesterday. Measures which passed included bills authorizing the electronic purchase of lottery tickets and revising the state’s congressional district map. Also crossing over to the other chamber were bills providing for the continuing education of private detectives and capping the sales and use tax on jet fuel for certain airlines after the fifteen million dollars. Changing the method of determining child support and ensuring that surviving spouses retain homestead exemptions also saw favorable votes. Certain to be popular with student and parents is House Bill 5 which passed overwhelmingly. The bill makes the last weekend in July a sales tax holiday. Exempted from sales tax are school supplies, clothing, footwear, computers, and computer related accessories. I’m ___________ reporting from the Capitol.
