Atlanta - House Speaker Glenn Richardson (R-Hiram) announced the appointment of State Representative Melvin Everson (R-Snellville) to the Statewide Child Abuse Prevention Panel.

"I am honored that the Speaker would consider me for service on this Panel.  I look forward to working with my fellow House members to protect Georgia’s children," said Representative Everson.
 
Everson began his House service in 2005, following a Special Election in November of that year.  He was elected to fill the unexpired term of Representative Phyllis Miller who accepted a Judicial Appointment. 

His current legislative duties include membership on the Education, Judiciary Non-Civil, and Transportation Committees of the House.
