Speaker Richardson appoints State Representatives Jan Jones, David Casas, Tom Dickson, Howard Maxwell, and Fran Millar to the House Local School District Development Impact Fees Study Committee

Atlanta– Today House Speaker Glenn Richardson (R-Hiram) appointed State Representatives Jan Jones (R-Alpharetta), David Casas (R-Lilburn), Tom Dickson (R-Cohutta), Howard Maxwell (R-Dallas), and Fran Millar (R-Dunwoody) to the House Local School District Impact Fees Study Committee. The committee is made up of five Representatives appointed by the Speaker. Rep. Jan Jones will be serving as the Chair of the study committee.

The committee will be studying the appropriate, balanced imposition of development impact fees by local governments to supplement the financing of public schools needed to serve new growth and development. The committee was created by the passage of House Resolution 230. The study committee will end its meeting on December 1, 2005.
