Speaker Richardson appoints State Representatives Terry England, Ellis Black, and Penny Houston to the Joint Agricultural Education Study Committee |

Atlanta– Today House Speaker Glenn Richardson (R-Hiram) appointed State Representatives Terry England (R-Auburn), Ellis Black (D-Valdosta), and Penny Houston (R-Nashville) to the legislature’s Joint Agricultural Education Study Committee. The committee is made up of three Representatives appointed by the Speaker, three State Senators, four members are appointed by the Governor, and the State School Superintendent appoints three members who are knowledgeable in Agricultural Education. The intent of this study committee is to provide direction to develop instructional strategies to teach the above standards and to integrate them into a broad range of academic subject areas, to provide a stronger career preparation program to meet the demands of a dynamic and competitive agriculture industry, and to provide for a better informed citizenry. The study committee will hold its meetings before the convening of the 2006 regular session. ### |
