Speaker Richardson appoints State Representatives Jim Cole, Tom McCall, Vance Smith, and Johnny Floyd to the Joint “Future of Georgia Forestry” Study Committee

Atlanta–Speaker of the House Glenn Richardson (R-Hiram) appointed State Representatives Jim Cole (R-Forsyth), Tom McCall (R-Elberton), Vance Smith ( R-Pine Mountain), and Johnny Floyd (D-Cordele) to the Joint “Future of Georgia Forestry” Study Committee.

The committee shall undertake a study of the conditions, needs, issues, challenges, and opportunities relating to the need to substantially improve the economic performance, research and development, and marketing of the wide range of products and other benefits derived from Georgiás forests, and create to prepare a comprehensive plan for Georgia to sustain and expand the benefits of Georgiás forest lands and forest products industries.

. The committee was created by the passage of Senate Resolution 54, authored by Sen. Ross Tolleson. The study committee will end its meeting on December 31, 2005.
