Speaker Richardson appoints State Representatives David Ralston, David Lucas, Ed Setzler, Robert Mumford, Willie Talton to the House Study Committee on Restructuring Georgia’s Criminal Penalties |

Atlanta–Speaker of the House Glenn Richardson (R-Hiram) appointed State Representatives David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), David Lucas (D-Macon), Ed Setzler (R-Acworth), Robert Mumford (R-Conyers), and Willie Talton (R-Warner Robbins) to the House Study Committee on Restructuring Georgia’s Criminal Penalties. The committee shall undertake a study of the conditions, needs, issues, challenges, and opportunities relating to a need to consider ways to reduce demand for indigent defense services, so that the financial burden on the state and local governments is reduced. The committee was created by the passage of House Resolution 515, authored by Rep. David Ralston, who will also be serving as Chair of the study committee. The study committee will end its meeting on December 1, 2006. ### |
