Chairman Human Relations & Aging

HD 107 (R- Loganville)

Len Walker currently serves as State Representative for District 107, which includes portions of Gwinnett and Walton Counties. Representative Walker was elected in 1994 as only the second Republican candidate elected to a county wide office in Walton County.

Representative Walker is a member of the Appropriations, Higher Education, and Rules Committees. He also serves on the Health Appropriations Sub-Committee. He was appointed by Speaker Richardson as the Chairman of the Human Relations and Aging Committee at the beginning of the 2005 Session. Among other things, this committee deals with the critical issues affecting the increasing elderly population in Georgia.

Representative Walker presently serves as Associate Pastor of Norcross First United Methodist Church. He attended high school in Thomaston, Georgia and graduated from Asbury College with a B.A. degree in 1971. He graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary with a M.Div. degree in 1978. He has served churches in Rocky Face, Jasper, and Loganville, Georgia. He and his wife, Marilynn, have been married for 33 years. They have five children and six grandchildren.

In addition to his legislative and pastoral responsibilities, Representative Walker is involved in several local civic organizations. He is a member of the Walton County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He served as a Board Member of Covenant Christian Academy and was formerly active with the Lions Club. He has also coached youth basketball and presently serves on the Board of Trustees of Indian Springs Campmeeting.
