HD 96 (D-Duluth) Representative Pedro Marin was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where he attended Sacred Heart College. The year 2002 marked a historic feat in the legislator’s life, as he became one of the first three Latinos to be elected to the Georgia General Assembly. As a freshman Representative, he was quite prolific in legislative sponsorship and even became the first Hispanic to have a proposed bill become a law. With a few years of legislative service under his belt, Representative Marin is serving those who elected him through membership on the Banks & Banking, Industrial Relations and Legislative & Congressional Reapportionment House Committees. Outside of the Gold Dome, Marin is a business consultant, serving as president of Niram Enterprises, Inc. In this role, he provides support services to companies and organizations to help them gain leadership positions in today’s international world. In 2004, he served as event coordinator for the Sumaq Summitt Alliance, a strategic initiative designed by the leading business schools in Latin America and Europe, which attracted 250 registered participants from Georgia and surrounding states. Marin has also devoted much of his spare as a ranking member of several professional organizations and training programs. In addition to this, the lawmaker has numerous conference presentations to his credit on top of receiving many special recognition awards. Pedro and his wife Nereida have been married for over 20 years. The couple has been blessed with a son, Joel, who is a college student. |
