Atlanta – State Representative Gene Maddox (R- Cairo) announced the appropriation of $600,000 in state money to go towards the construction of an addition to the livestock facility in Bainbridge.   Additionally, this money is to be matched by $1 million in private funding.

Maddox, a Doctor of Veterinary medicine, stated “this appropriation will be of great benefit not only to Decatur County Agriculture meetings, but also all of surrounding
Southwest Georgia.  This additional building will be an economic boost for the area.”

House Members passed their FY 2005-2006 Amended Budget Friday morning, the bill now awaits Senate approval for finalization.
