Chairman Insurance

HD 24 (R- Cumming)

State Representative Tom Knox (R-Cumming) represents the 24 th District of the Georgia House of Representatives. Rep. Knox was first elected the Georgia House in 2000, and quickly became a ranking member of the Regulated Industries Committee. He now serves as Chairman of the House Insurance Committee.

Born in St. Louis, MO in 1943, Rep. Knox attended the St. Louis Preparatory Seminary, and then went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts and Jurist Doctorate from the Cardinal Glennon College. Now calling Cumming and Forsyth County home, Rep. Knox is married to Michele Knox where they are members of the Good Shepherd Church in Cumming.

A practicing attorney, Rep. Knox has been greatly involved in his local community, as well as, a member of much state and national political activist organization. He is a member of the Georgia Bar Association, and the Forsyth County Criminal Defense Bar. He is a local member of the Lake Lanier Association, and the Catalina 22 National Sailing Association. His love of sailing is maybe what best keeps his interests in the local community. He is also a member of the Williams Shore Home Owners Association, and the Atlanta Pier and Sail Association.

Both politically and professionally, Rep. Knox is an activist for the issues that he believes are right for the State of Georgia. He is also a member of the Georgia Right to Life, and the Forsyth County Republican Party.

Representative Knox will be serving the 148 th General Assembly as the Chairman of the House Insurance Committee, and will also be a member of the Industrial Relations, Non-Civil Judiciary, and the Regulated Industries Committees.
