Born in the small town of Byronville, Georgia, Representative Lynmore James wears many hats, he is a legislator, farmer and Building Construction degree holder. James sought an active involvement in order to help improve the health care, education and economic in the community in which he represents. That community, also known as House District 135, includes the constituents of Dooly, Peach, Talbot and Taylor Counties. Representative James has acted as the voice of these communities since his first election in 1992. Presently, he is serving on several House Committees: Agriculture & Consumer Affairs, Public Safety and Retirement.

James is a graduate of the Flint River Farm High School and earned a Bachelor’s of Science from the Tuskegee University in Alabama. He later supported his family through farming and his employment in the Quality Control Division of Ford Motor Company. He and his wife Faye have been blessed with 3 sons, Lynorris, Mack Carlton and Jeffrey James. The couple are also active members of the New Popular Springs Baptist Church in Byronville.

James has much community and civic involvement under his belt. He has been a member of the Flag Bank Board of Directors, the Flint River Community Hospital Governing Board, the Georgia Center for Youth Advisory, Georgia Agri-Leaders Forum, the Fort Valley State University Foundation Board and the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
