Representative Billy Horne

Billy Horne grew up in Fayetteville, and graduated from Fayette County High School in 1986. After playing college baseball at DeKalb Community College, Billy transferred to Auburn University where he completed a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree in 1992. Later, he completed an MBA at Georgia State University. Billy has practiced engineering his entire professional career, and currently is the Engineering Manager for a small industrial energy equipment manufacturer in Peachtree City. In January 2007, Billy will begin his second term representing District 71 in the Georgia House of Representatives. District 71 encompasses the northern and eastern portions of Coweta County including the municipalities of Senoia, Haralson, Turin, Sharpsburg, Palmetto, and Moreland. He serves on the House Public Safety, Industrial Relations, and Economic Development and Tourism committees. Prior to being elected to the State House, Billy was a grassroots political activist influencing policy and working on numerous campaigns and fundraising activities for Republican candidates at the local, state, and national levels. Currently, Billy serves on the Board of Directors for CLICK. He recently completed a term on the Board of Leadership Coweta, and is a past board member of the Newnan Rotary Club. He completed the Georgia Legislative Leadership program, and, along with his wife Jenni is currently participating in Leadership Georgia, a leadership academy for influential Georgians designed to train and inspire participants to work to better our State. Billy is married to the former Jenni Adkins of Birmingham, AL. Billy and Jenni have two children: William, 6 and Mailey, 4. The Horne family has lived in Coweta County for 10 years, and are members of Cornerstone United Methodist Church. In his spare time, Billy enjoys college football, golf, scuba diving, reading, politics, and current events. |
