Representative Douglas Dean has many years of legislative service under his belt, being first elected in 1975. As one of the spokesman for Fulton County, community work and campaign involvement led him to his role in the General Assembly. His current legislative duties include membership on the Appropriations, Regulated Industries and Institutions & Properties Committees.

Outside of the legislature, Dean serves as the President and C.E.O of Summerhill Neighborhood Development Corporation. The devout Baptist is the proud father of 4 wonderful children and married to Brenda Dean. Representative Dean is a member of the NAACP. He is a past recipient of the James Coffman Community Service Award and the Sickle Cell Community Service Award.

His pastimes include golf and football when he isn’t busy with his lawmaking duties under the Gold Dome.
