HD 16 (D-Rockmart)

Representative Bill Cummings has a long history of legislative service under his belt. The Rockmart resident was first elected to the Georgia General Assembly in 1980 and has been serving there ever since. His legislative duties currently include membership on the Appropriations, Ways & Means and Retirement Committees.

A retired educator, Cummings also served in the 82 nd Airborne division of the United States Army. He received his Master’s in Education from West Georgia College and AB’s from Ogelthorpe University and Atlanta Christian College.

Representative Cummings and his wife Jenna have been blessed with three wonderful children. His community service includes involvement in several organizations, including the American Legion and lifetime membership on the Georgia Association of Educators Retired Teacher’s Association.
