Vice Chairman Appropriations – Health & Human Services
HD 69 (R-LaGrange)

Representative Jeff Brown serves District 69, covering Carroll, Heard and Troup Counties.  First elected in 1994, Representative Brown is presently serving as the Vice Chairman of the Appropriations Health Sub-Committee.  He also represents the needs of his constituents through his membership on the Rules, Ways & Means and Health & Human Services Committees. 

Prior to his holding office, Jeff attended several different Universities on his quest for knowledge. During his time at Temple University, he earned a Master’s in Education and was appointed to Psi Chi Honorary Psychology Society.  His Bachelor’s in Political Science was from Ursinus College.  Chairman Brown also participated in graduate courses at both Florida State University and University of California Los Angeles.  He is a graduate of the Leadership Institute at the University of Georgia.  In 2003 he was nominated and attended the Air War College.

Since 1983, Representative Brown has served as the President of Comprehensive Search, which services include personnel search, supplying Employee Alternatives throughout North America, recruitment research, testing, reference/background checking, spousal assistance, and outplacement.  His community involvement includes his membership at the First Presbyterian Church in LaGrange, where is serves as an Elder, Liturgist and Sunday School Teacher.

His other outside interests include speaking at various local and national functions as well as writing articles on human resources issues.  Brown is a member of the Rotary International and has been appointed as a member of the LaGrange Industrial Development Authority, Hi Tech Task Force, West Point Lake Advisory Committee and West Georgia Technical College Foundation. The legislator is a former Eagle Scout and also served as Class President in High School and in College.

The Representative is married to Shirley Brown, who has an MA in Library Science and is now a Community Volunteer.  Their son Greg is a graduate of Presbyterian College and now manages the New Business Development Division of Comprehensive Search.
