Born and raised in Savannah, Georgia, Representative Tom Bordeaux graduated from Savannah High School in 1971.  He went on to attend the University of Georgia, from which he earned both a Political Science and then his Law Degree.  Having made a career as a successful attorney, Bordeaux decided to pursue a political career and became a member of the Georgia State House of Representatives in 1990.  He is currently representing House District 162, covering Chatham County and his hometown of Savannah.  He is extending his services to several House Committees: Economic Development & Tourism, Intra-governmental Coordination and Judiciary Non-Civil. He has also served as a Dean for the Chatham County Delegation.

Representative Bordeaux is a member of several organizations in his community.  The Medical Association of Georgia presented him with the Friend of Medicine Award and the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, for which he serves as Vice President, named him Outstanding Legislator.  He has had a committed involvement with Georgia Organized Labor, which led to his being named Friend of Labor.  The Georgia Council on Aging appointed him an Outstanding Legislator.  He also serves on the Board of the Armstrong-Atlantic State University Foundation. Bordeaux is on the Board of Directors for the Coastal Children’s Advocacy Center Advisory Board, a part of the Court Appointed Special Advocates and on the Board of Curators for the Georgia Historical Society.

           
Married to Nelle McCorkle Bordeaux, the couple has 2 children, Annie Lillian and Thomas Aticus.  They are members of the First Presbyterian Church in Savannah.
