IT Department Internship

The IT department of the Georgia General Assembly brings on five hand selected interns for each General Assembly Session. Interns who are invited to join the IT department for this time period (typically from December 15th to May 15th) will be gain priceless experience in network and desktop support in a fast paced environment. Interns interact directly with Representatives, Senators and their associated support staffs. Each intern works side by side with a designated IT person and get will a great deal of hands-on experience throughout the Session. Interns who excel in this effort receive a special letter of recommendation as well as an excellent item to list on their resumes.

The IT department is looking for 5 interns. They must have the following qualities:

  • Excellent customer service/communications skills. Able to work with users of all types to help resolve issues
  • Professional behavior and positive demeanor
  • Medium to advanced knowledge of Outlook, MS Office and Windows XP
  • Mature and responsible- able to work unsupervised or on a team
  • Able to work flexible and long hours
  • Reliable transportation
  • Be US citizen or have a green card
  • No criminal record, misdemeanors will be evaluated on a case by case basis
This internship is paid and the stipend pay will be about $9 to $14 dollars an hour depending on the candidate.
