RESOLUTION
Commending
the Augusta State University Gospel Ensemble; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
in September, 2005, the Augusta State University Gospel Ensemble began blending
their voices in praise of God and are now 77 voices strong; and
WHEREAS,
this distinguished multicultural choir has joined together tremendous talents
serving as a spiritual inspiration not only to the university, the Augusta
community, and the citizens of this state, but to people throughout the
southeastern states as well; and
WHEREAS,
the Augusta State University Gospel Ensemble has shared its ministry at The
National Collegiate Choir Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina, the Gospel
Explosion 2005 in Hinesville, Georgia, and at many other events touching a
countless number of the lives; and
WHEREAS,
on February 24, 2006, this remarkable group of young people will lift up their
voices in worship at the first concert ever held by an Augusta State University
gospel choir, blessing the hearts of many by sharing their God-given talents
with the Augusta community and surrounding areas during this historical event;
and
WHEREAS,
it is evident that the young people who have joined this gospel choir under the
leadership of their talented faculty advisor have done so for the opportunity to
share the love and joy that they receive from being
God́s
instruments in delivering the gospel to their audiences; and
WHEREAS,
the dedication of the Augusta State University Gospel Ensemble to ministry
through song and music is an inspiration in and of itself, and it is fitting and
proper that this dynamic gospel group be recognized for its achievements and
service.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
the Augusta State University Gospel Ensemble for bringing the gospel message to
people through music and extend their best wishes for the continued success of
this marvelous group.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Augusta State
University Gospel Ensemble.
