RESOLUTION
Congratulating
John William "Johnny" Pritchett on his election as Mayor of the Town of Bishop
and commending him for his many years of excellent service; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
born in Watkinsville, Mr. John William Pritchett has not only spent his life
residing in Oconee County but has also served his community as a member of the
Oconee County Board of Commissioners from 1989 to 1993 and 2001 to 2004;
and
WHEREAS,
since 1971, Mr. Pritchett has enjoyed a successful career with Athens-Clarke
County, where he is the County Fire Marshal; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Pritchett's work with numerous fire service organizations and county and
state boards merits the highest commendation and is a testament to his
dedication to protecting and improving the lives of Georgia's citizens;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Pritchett began his four years of service on January 1, 2005, as Mayor of
the Town of Bishop, where he resides with his wife and grandson;
and
WHEREAS,
in this capacity, Mr. Pritchett continues to exhibit his commitment to his
community and to the highest personal standards.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in
congratulating Mr. John William "Johnny" Pritchett on his election as Mayor of
the Town of Bishop, Georgia, and recognize his many contributions to Oconee and
Athens-Clarke Counties and to the State of Georgia.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. John William "Johnny"
Pritchett.
