RESOLUTION
Commending
Specialist (E4) Camden Ned Pate for his service to the United States; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Specialist (E4) Camden Ned Pate, 25, of Coffee County has been honorably serving
in the Georgia National Guard for almost six years and is stationed at Ft.
Stewart; and
WHEREAS,
sent to Iraq in May, 2005, he was injured in Bagdad in August when a bomb
exploded near the Humvee in which he was riding alongside two other soldiers;
tragically, two of Specialist Pate's good friends were killed, and he received
severe burns over his body; and
WHEREAS,
Specialist Pate was treated in a German hospital for a few days before being
sent to a hospital in Texas, and he is continuing his recovery at home;
and
WHEREAS,
Specialist Pate and his wife, Paige, are the proud parents of their
three-year-old daughter, Kiara, and their newborn son, Calien Camden;
and
WHEREAS,
all Americans owe a tremendous debt to courageous and honorable members of our
armed forces such as Specialist Pate, whose selfless service to the United
States has helped to safeguard our democracy for generations to
come.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in
recognizing and commending Specialist (E4) Camden Ned Pate for his brave and
admirable service in the defense of the United States of America and extend
their most sincere wishes for his full and speedy recovery.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Specialist (E4) Camden Ned
Pate.
