RESOLUTION
Commending
Christopher Xavier Harris on becoming an Eagle Scout; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Christopher Xavier Harris of Boy Scout Troop 641 has earned the rank of Eagle
Scout after completing the rigorous requirements of this honor, including making
valuable improvements on the campus of Etowah High School for his Eagle Scout
project; and
WHEREAS,
Christopher Xavier Harris received this highest achievement among Boy Scouts of
America in an Eagle Scout Court of Honor on December 2, 2005; and
WHEREAS,
the attainment of Eagle Scout rank indicates that a Scout has developed
leadership ability, self-confidence, mature judgment, and mental and physical
capabilities that will be of immense benefit throughout life; and
WHEREAS,
Christopher Xavier Harris has amply demonstrated to his Scout leaders and peers
that he possesses these qualities along with sterling character;
and
WHEREAS,
for a Scout to reach Eagle rank, he must earn 21 merit badges, 12 of which are
mandatory requirements for the Eagle Scout program; and
WHEREAS,
in achieving Eagle Scout status, Christopher Xavier Harris has brought great
honor not only to himself but also to his family and troop.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize
and commend Christopher Xavier Harris for his diligence and dedication in
pursuing the highest honor awarded by the Boy Scouts of America and congratulate
him on attaining the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Christopher Xavier Harris.
