RESOLUTION
Congratulating
Reverend James H. Terry on his installation as pastor of Saint Paul Missionary
Baptist Church; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
on January 29, 2006, Reverend James H. Terry will be installed as the pastor of
Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Savannah, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
Reverend Terry, the son of the late Thelma C. and Dester Terry, has been a
minister for 21 years; and
WHEREAS,
he was first called to preach in June, 1982, and gave his first sermon on the
third Sunday in January, 1985; and
WHEREAS,
in addition to his role as a minister, Reverend Terry is a family man devoted to
his wife, Wilma L. Terry; his two children, Jacqueline and James, Jr.; and five
grandchildren; he is also the loving brother of Mary E. Terry, Delores Collins,
Laurine Wright, and Lawrence Terry; and
WHEREAS,
Reverend Terry is the tenth pastor elected at Saint Paul Missionary Baptist
Church, a vibrant faith community with 200 members, and his new flock is honored
to be led by such an extraordinary servant of the Lord.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in
congratulating Reverend James H. Terry on being installed as the pastor of Saint
Paul Missionary Baptist Church.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Reverend James H. Terry.
