RESOLUTION
Recognizing
the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association on February 7, 2006; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
for 61 years, the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association has been devoted to
the development of quality recreational facilities and programs throughout our
state; and
WHEREAS,
from sports to arts and crafts to cultural and nature-centered activities,
recreation is an important and enriching part of the lives of Georgians of all
ages and abilities; and
WHEREAS,
by offering wholesome and educational activities, successful recreation programs
can be highly beneficial to society in the fight against juvenile delinquency,
drug abuse, loneliness, and depression; and
WHEREAS,
as our modern lives are busier than ever, Georgia's recreational facilities and
programs assist our hard-working citizens in finding ways to make their precious
leisure time more fulfilling; and
WHEREAS,
the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association performs an invaluable service to
all Georgians in its efforts to ensure that our state has the best possible
recreation facilities and programs for all to enjoy.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body on
February 7, 2006, recognize the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association for its
organized efforts and outstanding commitment to public recreation services and
convey their appreciation and best wishes.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Georgia Recreation and
Parks Association.
