A RESOLUTION

Honoring Glennville Bank for its 100 years of service to the community and congratulating its directors, officers, and employees on the grand opening of their new facility; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, chartered on January 12, 1905, with 18 signers of the charter, 40 shareholders with $30,000.00 in capital stock, and five directors, Glennville Bank first opened its doors on March 13, 1905, to serve the financial needs of Glennville's citizens; and

WHEREAS, investing and believing in people, Glennville Bank has been a pillar of its community for 100 years; and

WHEREAS, its fair and ethical business practices as well as the investment of its stockholders, directors, and staff have been instrumental to the progress of the City of Glennville; and

WHEREAS, on Friday, March 11, 2005, Glennville Bank celebrated its centennial with the grand opening of its new facility located in the heart of downtown Glennville.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in honoring the 100th anniversary of Glennville Bank and extend their sincere congratulations and best wishes to its directors, officers, and employees for another successful century of service in their outstanding new facility.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Tracy M. Durrence, President, Glennville Bank.
