RESOLUTION
Commending
the "Rick and Bubba Morning Show"; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the "Rick and Bubba Morning Show" is hosted by Rick Burgess and Bill "Bubba"
Bussey on radio station WYSF-FM in Birmingham; and
WHEREAS,
the show dominates Birmingham's morning drive-time airways and is that city's
only syndicated broadcast, playing in 11 cities across the South;
and
WHEREAS,
the Turner South network recently began airing the "Rick and Bubba" show on
television for 20 hours weekly as a means of bolstering its "Southern and proud
of it" image; and
WHEREAS,
on any given day, Rick and Bubba may discuss politics, college football, their
families, and other various topics on their popular "show about anything";
and
WHEREAS,
on their show, Rick and Bubba have consistently demonstrated support for
American troops and the President of the United States, exhibited patriotism,
and displayed "Southern cultural cuisine."
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
the "Rick and Bubba Morning Show" and wish its hosts continued
success.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit appropriate copies of this resolution to Rick Burgess and Bill
"Bubba" Bussey.
