RESOLUTION
Congratulating
the North Georgia College and State University women's basketball team; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the North Georgia College and State University women's basketball team swept the
Southern States Athletic Conference to claim their fourth tournament
championship and earn their seventh consecutive trip to the National Association
of Intercollegiate Athletics tournament; and
WHEREAS,
displaying their superb talent and dedication to their sport and their team, the
Lady Saints wrapped up this season with a 25-7 record and a 18-2 record in
conference to win their third straight conference championship; and
WHEREAS,
over the past four years, the team has had an amazing record of 112-26 with a
winning percentage of .812 over the same span; and
WHEREAS,
these victories were the culmination of seasons of hard work, determination, and
exemplary sportsmanship among this outstanding group of young ladies;
and
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia takes great pride in the accomplishments of these
remarkable young champions.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in
congratulating the North Georgia College and State University women's basketball
team on their fourth Southern States Athletic Conference tournament championship
and on their outstanding performance during this memorable season.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the North Georgia College
and State University women's basketball team.
