A RESOLUTION

Expressing regret at the passing of Edward L. "Sonny" Hinesley; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, on March 19, 2005, the State of Georgia lost one of its finest and most distinguished citizens with the tragic and untimely passing of Edward L. "Sonny" Hinesley; and

WHEREAS, this exceptional individual exhibited outstanding leadership in all of his life, including his service to his community and his service to his nation as a member of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict; and

WHEREAS, his unparalleled organizational and leadership talents, his remarkable patience and diplomacy, his keen sense of vision, and his acute sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of his community and state earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates; and

WHEREAS, the untimely passing of this generous, kind, and devoted man leaves an unfillable void in the hearts and lives of his family and friends.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body express their deepest and most sincere regret at the passing of Edward L. "Sonny" Hinesley.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Edward L. "Sonny" Hinesley.
