A RESOLUTION

Congratulating Wayne Edward and Patricia Ann Sheyka Kidd upon their 40th wedding anniversary; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Wayne and Patricia Kidd of Alpharetta were married on June 19, 1965, and will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary this year; and

WHEREAS, Wayne and Patricia Kidd have been proud residents of the great State of Georgia since 1982; and

WHEREAS, Wayne and Patricia Kidd were raised in the State of New Jersey and became high school sweethearts at The Lady of the Valley Catholic High School in Orange, New Jersey; and

WHEREAS, both Wayne and Patricia Kidd chose to serve in the United States Army as members of the 82nd Airborne Division and the Army Nursing Corps, respectively, and attained the rank of Captain and 2nd Lieutenant, respectively; and

WHEREAS, Wayne Kidd served with distinction in the Vietnam War and was awarded the Soldier's Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Purple Heart; and

WHEREAS, Wayne and Patricia Kidd have raised three sons in Georgia, two of whom chose to serve our country with honor in the United States Army and Navy; and

WHEREAS, Wayne and Patricia Kidd have been faithful and patriotic citizens of our country and our state; and

WHEREAS, their tenderness, respect, and joy for one another have provided invaluable inspiration to others striving for harmony in their lives and their families; and

WHEREAS, the dedication, patience, wisdom, and understanding that they demonstrate on a daily basis have provided a firm foundation on which all of their family members have developed and flourished.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend and congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Wayne E. Kidd on their celebration of 40 wonderful years of marriage and extend sincere wishes for many more happy years together.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized to send an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. and Mrs. Wayne E. Kidd.
