RESOLUTION
A
RESOLUTION honoring His Excellency George M. Kaidii, Ambassador at-large of the
great sovereign nation the Republic of Liberia; urging establishment of cultural
and economic ties between the people of the State of Georgia and the people of
the Republic of Liberia in which each may prosper; urging consideration in the
Liberian election process of the desire for public service held by His
Excellency George M. Kaidii; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
commercial and cultural ties with the people of the Republic of Liberia and the
people of the State of Georgia are desirable in order to bring cultural and
commercial affairs between the two jurisdictions with their accompanying mutual
economic benefits; and
WHEREAS,
His Excellency George M. Kaidii, Ambassador at-large of the great sovereign
nation, the Republic of Liberia, shares a common heritage with the people of
Georgia; and the burial site of his forebears lies in the 4th District of
Randolph County, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
many Georgians seek reconciliation of lost affection and estrangement from their
blood relatives who were relocated to the Ivory Coast region of the continent of
Africa; and
WHEREAS,
it is to the mutual benefit of both peoples to establish those necessary
implements of commerce to enable relationships dealing in trade of raw,
semi-finished, and finished goods, those both natural and man-made; and
WHEREAS,
cultural and educational exchange between Georgia and the Republic of Liberia
will also benefit both peoples.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that this body honors His Excellency
George M. Kaidii, Ambassador at-large of the great sovereign nation the Republic
of Liberia.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this body urges the establishment of cultural and economic ties between the people of the State of Georgia and the people of the Republic of Liberia in which each may prosper.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this body urges the establishment of cultural and economic ties between the people of the State of Georgia and the people of the Republic of Liberia in which each may prosper.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the members of this body support a democratic, free,
and transparent election process in the Republic of Liberia and urge its people
to give every consideration to the desire for public service held by His
Excellency George M. Kaidii.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to His Excellency George M.
Kaidii.
