RESOLUTION
Commending
Willie Bland; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Willie Bland is an outstanding individual who has excelled as an athlete, an
academic, and in the community; and
WHEREAS,
this stellar junior student athlete attends Jordan High School; and
WHEREAS,
during his high school wrestling career, he has compiled an astonishing record
including an Area 1_AAA championship and Westover championship and finishing
third at Hardaway and fifth at state; and
WHEREAS,
this stellar man epitomizes the courage, determination, leadership, and
character necessary to attain excellence in athletic prowess and performance and
to achieve success as an individual and citizen; and
WHEREAS,
he has been named All_Bi_City Wrestling 2005 and it is abundantly fitting and
proper that the superlative skills and outstanding deeds of this accomplished
student athlete be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Willie Bland for his unprecedented athletic performance and his exemplary
academic achievements, congratulate him upon being named All_Bi_City Wrestling
2005; and extend to him their sincerest best wishes for success in the
future.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Willie Bland.
