RESOLUTION
Commending
Kenneth Leuer; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Kenneth Leuer is an outstanding individual who has excelled as an athlete and in
the community; and
WHEREAS,
he was a two_time All_American wrestler at the University of Iowa and captured
the national championship in 1956; and
WHEREAS,
he has served his country with honor and distinction with a 32 year military
career in which he was the commanding general at Fort Benning and is credited as
the "father of the modern_day Ranger"; and
WHEREAS,
this stellar man epitomizes the courage, determination, leadership, and
character necessary to attain excellence in athletic prowess and performance and
to achieve success as an individual and citizen; and
WHEREAS,
he has been inducted into the Chattahoochee Valley Sports Hall of Fame and it is
abundantly fitting and proper that the superlative skills and outstanding deeds
of this accomplished athlete be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Kenneth Leuer for his unprecedented athletic performance; congratulate him upon
being inducted into the Chattahoochee Valley Sports Hall of Fame; and extend to
him their sincerest best wishes for success in the future.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of Senate is authorized and directed to
transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Kenneth Leuer.
