RESOLUTION
Commending
Claudette Campbell; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Caludette Campbell has been the executive director of the One Call Center of
Georgia for the past 25 years; and
WHEREAS,
she has served with distinction as the chairperson of the Georgia Utilities
Coordinating Council; and
WHEREAS,
Claudette Campbell has served with dynamic ability as the president of the
American Public Works Association - Georgia Chapter; and
WHEREAS,
she has served with consummate skill on the National Board of Directors and
Executive Committee of the American Public Works Association; and
WHEREAS,
Claudette Campbell has served with honor and dedication as cochairperson of the
national "Common Ground Best Practices" Education Committee and a member of the
Technical Pipeline Safety Standards Committee of the United States Department of
Transportation; and
WHEREAS,
Claudette Campbell is the 2004 recipient of the APWA William J. Humma award for
exceptional service and is the fifth recipient in the 15 year history of the
award and the first woman to receive the award; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
distinguished Georgian be recognized appropriately.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Ms. Claudette Campbell for her many years of dedication and leadership in
Georgia and nationally to the cause of excavation safety and damage prevention
and recognize that through her hard work, leadership, and dedication, the State
of Georgia has been and continues to be a national leader in damage prevention,
which has kept the citizens of the State of Georgia "Safe and
Connected."
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ms. Claudette Campbell.
