RESOLUTION
Commending
Jacey Planteen; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Jacey Planteen has achieved exceptional scholastic accomplishments at Sequoyah
High School in Cherokee County, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
each year a top academic senior in each participating Georgia high school is
named the STAR (Student Teacher Achievement Recognition) student, and, in order
to qualify for a nomination, the student must have the highest score in one
sitting on the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) and be in the top 10 percent of
the student´s class; and
WHEREAS,
in recognition of her outstanding dedication to academic excellence, Jacey
Planteen was selected as the Sequoyah High School STAR student; and
WHEREAS,
the Cherokee County community and the State of Georgia take great pride in the
accomplishments of this promising young woman.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Jacey Planteen for her outstanding commitment to excellence in her scholastic
endeavors, congratulate her upon being named the 2005 Sequoyah High School STAR
Student, and extend their sincerest best wishes for her continued
success.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Jacey Planteen.
