RESOLUTION
Commending
and congratulating Mr. Isaiah Hugley on his appointment as City Manager of the
Columbus Consolidated Government; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Isaiah Hugley first joined the Columbus Consolidated Government in 1984 and
has served as the Assistant Director of the Department of Transportation/METRA,
the Director of the Department of Transportation/METRA, and the Deputy City
Manager for the Day-to-Day Operations of the Columbus Consolidated Government;
and
WHEREAS,
in these positions, he has demonstrated the best qualities of public service,
earning a reputation for thoughtful and effective leadership and sincere
dedication to the citizens of his community; and
WHEREAS,
his many contributions include his involvement with a number of volunteer
organizations as well as his service with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, the
Civilian and Military Council, the Muscogee Educational Excellence Foundation,
the Better Business Bureau of Southwest Georgia, and the International and
Georgia City-County Managers Associations; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Isaiah Hugley was appointed as the City Manager of the Columbus Consolidated
Government in February, 2005.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in
commending Mr. Isaiah Hugley for his outstanding dedication to the citizens of
Columbus and the State of Georgia and congratulate him on his appointment as
City Manager of the Columbus Consolidated Government.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Isaiah Hugley.
