A
RESOLUTION
Commending
and congratulating the Pinewood Christian Academy girls' basketball team; and
for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Pinewood Christian Academy girls' basketball team has captured the GISA
Class AA State Championship with a 59-30 win over Trinity Christian in the
finals; and
WHEREAS,
this was the third straight championship title for the Lady Patriots, who drew a
large crowd of students and supporters to witness their amazing triumph;
and
WHEREAS,
the Lady Patriots benefitted from the dedication and superb guidance of Head
Coach Eddie Durrence; and
WHEREAS,
these victories were the culmination of a season of hard work, dedication, and
exemplary sportsmanship among this close-knit group of talented young ladies;
and
WHEREAS,
the crowd of Patriot supporters was delighted by the dual state titles of the
Pinewood girls and boys basketball teams; and
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia takes great pride in the accomplishments of these
outstanding young champions.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in
commending the Pinewood Christian Academy girls' basketball team and Head Coach
Eddie Durrence and congratulate them on capturing their third GISA Class AA
State Championship.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Head Coach Eddie Durrence.
