A RESOLUTION

Commending Mr. Joel Goldberg, recipient of the 2004 Ronald Reagan Republican Gold Medal Award; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, President Ronald Reagan worked in a bipartisan manner to enact his bold vision of restoring accountability and common sense to government, which led to an unprecedented economic expansion and opportunity for millions of Americans; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Joel Goldberg has been selected by the National Republican Congressional Committee as a 2004 Ronald Reagan Republican Gold Medal Award winner; and

WHEREAS, he generously contributed of his time and expertise as a member of the Board of Trustees of Saint Joseph's Hospital of Atlanta, Inc., for 31 years and as its chairperson for six years; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Goldberg was selected based on his unyielding support of the Republican Party, outstanding leadership in business, and demonstrated commitment to President Ronald Reagan's vision for an entrepreneurial America; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Goldberg has served as an Honorary Chairman of the Business Advisory Council providing much needed support and earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues; and

WHEREAS, only an elite group of business and professional individuals were nominated to receive this prestigious award.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in commending Mr. Joel Goldberg on being chosen as a 2004 Ronald Reagan Republican Gold Medal Award winner.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Joel Goldberg.
