Senate Resolution 446

A RESOLUTION

Recognizing the Dr. Marc A. Chetta Family; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Dr. Chetta is a graduate of Louisiana State University and the Louisiana State University School of Medicine and has served with great ability and dedication as a board certified family practice physician, an appointed fellow of the American College of Family Physicians, a clinical professor of family medicine at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine, director of emergency medicine at Habersham County Medical Center, an advanced cardiac life support instructor, and a pediatric advanced life support instructor; and

WHEREAS, he was the recipient of the prestigious Parke-Davis Teacher Development Award in Medicine in 1981, one of only 11 in the country; and

WHEREAS, his record of service to his community includes short-term medical missions to Honduras, Mexico, Ukraine, and Russia; as song director, Sunday School teacher, and deacon at Camp Creek Baptist Church; and as chair of the Habersham Republican Party; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Marc A. Chetta and his wife Helen are the parents of seven wonderful children, Angela Pikett (25), Marc Jr. (21), Matthew (19), Ardis (15), Allison (13), Abigail (11), and Micah (9), who are all gifted musicians and who have played as members of the Chetta-Ganyard Violin Ensemble and have won awards for their musical abilities; and

WHEREAS, the members of this body recognize and value the many contributions of this outstanding Georgia family.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend the Dr. Marc A. Chetta Family for its outstanding contributions to Georgia.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Dr. Marc A. Chetta Family.
