RESOLUTION
Expressing
regret at the passing of Lance Corporal Michael Scarborough; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
on October 30, 2004, the State of Georgia lost one of its finest and most
outstanding citizens with the passing of Michael Scarborough of Washington,
Georgia, as a result of combat wounds he received in the Al Anbar Province of
Iraq; and
WHEREAS,
this exceptional individual exhibited outstanding leadership, patriotism,
courage, and dedication in his service to this state and nation in the United
States Marine Corps; and
WHEREAS,
his unparalleled leadership talents, his remarkable patience and diplomacy, his
keen sense of vision, and his acute sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of
his country and state earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues
and associates; and
WHEREAS,
the passing of this generous, kind, and devoted young man leaves an unfillable
void in the hearts and lives of his family and friends.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body express
their deepest and most sincere regret at the passing of Lance Corporal Michael
Scarborough.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Lance
Corporal Michael Scarborough.
