RESOLUTION
Congratulating
Mr. David Gordon Allen on the occasion of his 56th birthday; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. David Gordon Allen, a resident of Georgia for over 20 years, is one of our
state's most distinguished and admired citizens; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Allen honorably served his country as a Marine in the Vietnam War before
receiving his bachelor's degree from the University of Central Florida;
and
WHEREAS,
he enjoys a wonderful marriage to his wife, Pam, and is the proud father of two
children, Justin and Christy, and a father figure to many others;
and
WHEREAS,
dedicated to helping the young people of our state, Mr. Allen has spent many
years working to develop and increase the use of technology in public schools
across the state; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Allen is a God-fearing man who has faithfully volunteered his time and
energy to his church and the school his children attended; and
WHEREAS,
loved and respected by all of his family and friends, Mr. Allen is known for his
great devotion to his family and his remarkable ability to make every person he
meets feel special; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Allen's adoring family greatly appreciates all of the sacrifices he has made
and continues to make for his family; and
WHEREAS,
on April 5, 2006, Mr. Allen will celebrate his 56th birthday, and it is
abundantly fitting and proper for this body to recognize him on this joyous
occasion.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in
congratulating Mr. David Gordon Allen on the happy occasion of his 56th birthday
and in thanking him for his countless contributions to the State of
Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit appropriate copies of this resolution to Mr. David Gordon Allen.
