RESOLUTION
Commending
Reverend Dr. Kenneth B. Martin; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Reverend Dr. Kenneth B. Martin has spent a lifetime answering God's call to be
His messenger to do His will; and
WHEREAS,
whether the task is preparing a sermon; visiting the sick; counseling the
troubled; baptizing a new believer; or acting as a theologian, educator,
administrator, or humanitarian, or any of the other countless responsibilities
of a minister of the Gospel, Reverend Martin has shown the energy, devotion,
and commitment truly reflective of divine guidance; and
WHEREAS,
on April 22, 2006, Reverend Martin will celebrate the 20th anniversary of his
pastorship of Antioch Baptist Church in Augusta, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
the unmatched spiritual assistance offered by Reverend Martin is a source of
strength, inspiration, and direction for persons in all walks of life and from
all economic strata; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper for this body to recognize the outstanding
accomplishments of the dynamic Christian ministry of this devout and pious
man.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Reverend Dr. Kenneth B. Martin for his unparalleled record of community service
and his innumerable good works rendered on behalf of persons in need and extend
to him their most sincere best wishes for continued health and
happiness.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Reverend Dr. Kenneth B.
Martin.
