Senate Resolution 1295

A RESOLUTION

Commending Leroy Jenkins; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Leroy Jenkins is widely recognized throughout the state as the personification of excellence in education; and

WHEREAS, this highly respected professional educator has served with honor and distinction as a teacher for over 25 years and currently teaches at Towers High School in the DeKalb County school system; and

WHEREAS, he believes that his continuing role as a teacher is to act as an instrument of inspiration and enthusiasm to his pupils and to create a positive learning environment through the encouragement of competitive instincts in students; and

WHEREAS, he is a shining example of the important impact that the efforts of individual education professionals are making on the quality of education received by the children of this state and it is abundantly fitting and proper that his superlative accomplishments be recognized appropriately.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body heartily and gratefully commend Leroy Jenkins for his over two and one-half decades of sacrifice, foresight, accomplishment, and contributions on behalf of education in Georgia and for the positive influence he has had upon the lives and futures of countless young people in this state and extend to him their most sincere best wishes for health and happiness in the future.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Leroy Jenkins.
