RESOLUTION
Commending
Geraldine Mitchell; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Geraldine Mitchell is widely recognized throughout the state as the
personification of excellence in education; and
WHEREAS,
this highly respected professional educator has served with honor and
distinction as a teacher for over 25 years and currently teaches at Towers High
School in the DeKalb County school system; and
WHEREAS,
she believes that her continuing role as a teacher is to act as an instrument of
inspiration and enthusiasm to her pupils and to create a positive learning
environment through the encouragement of competitive instincts in students;
and
WHEREAS,
she is a shining example of the important impact that the efforts of individual
education professionals are making on the quality of education received by the
children of this state and it is abundantly fitting and proper that her
superlative accomplishments be recognized appropriately.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body heartily
and gratefully commend Geraldine Mitchell for her over two and one-half decades
of sacrifice, foresight, accomplishment, and contributions on behalf of
education in Georgia and for the positive influence she has had upon the lives
and futures of countless young people in this state and extend to her their most
sincere best wishes for health and happiness in the future.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Geraldine Mitchell.
